A note on Pugh Genealogy: I have joined the Pugh Family DNA Project by Family Tree DNA. This project matches family members based on a father's yDNA that is handed down from father to son through many generations unchanged. Participants who have documentation to prove their ancestory are matched genetically with participants who are unsure of their ancestory. Through this matching process I am now sure that I am descended from Lewis Pugh, son of David Pugh from Wales. There are currently many family name projects in process. I would encourage anyone interested in their family tree to participate. You can find out more by linking to: Family Tree DNA Pugh Project
Thanks, Danny
Welcome ! to the Harden and Dollie Osborne Website. Harden Martin Osborne was the son of Enoch Cox Osborne and Vandalia Dillie Hash. Harden married Addie Lee "Dollie" Griffith whose parents were John Griffith and Mary Taylor Adams. Harden, Dollie, Enoch C. and Dillie are all buried the Potato Creek Cemetery at Maple Shade, just past the Cox Chapel community. This website is dedicated to them and to Dalton and Effie Orr who are the only relatives I have that visited me in every location I ever lived, including a college dormitory. Dalton and Effie traveled far to visit us all, and make their family feel like one large extended family. I hope all of you will contribute photos and stories to this website, and help it grow. It's more important than ever that our children, grandchildren, and subsequent generations have a sense of family and know their beginnings, however humble. I have included a small genealogy section where we can easily share our history with friends and family, I hope this section will grow with time. If anyone finds any information to be inaccurate or incomplete please let me know, and I will correct the data. My contact info is on the contact page. I would also like to have any family photos you would be willing to share. If you will email them to me, I will post them to the photo pages.
This website is truely a labor of love, both for our family, and for Grayson County. I have nothing but extreme respect for those hardscrabble farmers who fought cold, hunger, drought, the war that birthed our nation, and the other war that tore it apart. Anytime I find life difficult, I try to remember the trials our fathers and mothers endured, and I find strength and inspiration from them.
The beautiful picture above was taken by Danny Blackmon of the Potato Creek Church in Grayson County. I appreciate the use of the picture, and also the fine genealogy research Danny has done for our family.
Please use the contact form on the Contact/Link page to help me collect a database of all our realatives. Also please encourage every family member you know to use this website, and send their contact information. We will only use the information to organize and inform about family reunions, and other family news. E-mail addresses are preferred, as this is an easy and inexpensive way to keep in touch.
Thank you all, and I look forward to the family reunions to come. See you there !
